How is the term “Shop” defined under the Shops and Establishment Act?
The term “Shop” under this Act is defined as any premises where goods are sold in wholesale or retails. It also includes the place where services are rendered or where goods are stored like in warehouses, godowns or any workplace where business is conducted. Factories are not included in this definition as they come under the Factories Act.
