If the Contractor fails to provide the amenities as per the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, should the principal employer take up the responsibility to provide the said amenities?


Yes!  If the Contractor fails to provide the amenities as per the Act to the contract labour, the principal employer must take up the responsibility to provide the amenities. (Section 20 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1979)
