Can the employer terminate a woman employee after learning about her pregnancy?


Section 12 of the Act emphasizes that any dismissal or discharge of a woman employee during pregnancy is unlawful and the employer can be punished under Section 21 of the Act. However, in case of gross misconduct, the employer can take necessary action as per the disciplinary policy of the company.
