Who are liable to pay Professional Tax?
The employer has to make Professional tax payment to the government after deducting the amounts from the wages or salaries of the employees. If you are a working professional, you need to directly pay professional tax on your own to the government. The deduction period and payment slab will depend on the location of employment as these may vary from state to state.
