When should an organization pay gratuity?
An organization is liable to pay gratuity to an employee
- On termination of employment after he/she has served 5 year or more of continuous
service.
- On his/her superannuation
- On his/her retirement or resignation or
- On his/her death or disablement due to accident or disease (the completion of 5 years
service is not considered in this case)
